You barely hear it. You feel it.
Zero change to your music. Zero new habit.

Why it exists
Most wellbeing apps and tools ask you to stop what you are doing and start something new. MindHug Zero does the opposite: it works inside a habit you already have and love, the music you already play.
People already spend nearly three hours a day listening to music. IFPI
Using it
Any headphones on
Sleep, focus or calm. One choice, and the only decision you make.

Your library, your player, your songs. Nothing moves.

The app adds a personalised wellbeing layer under the track, matched to it. The song does not change, and you will not hear it working.
Your own music. Actual screens from the app.

Cannot wait?
Backstage is live now in London and across the UK: silent-disco style sessions where you hear Zero for yourself today. The app, over your own music, is still to come, which is what the waiting list is for.

Where this came from
MindHug Zero brings the same understanding as our programmes to something you already do, pressing play.
MindHug has spent years working on why people know what helps and do not do it, with universities, organisations and UK government programmes. Part of that is what the mind reaches for as safe, and what it screens out as threat. Music is one of the safe signals, and Zero works with it.
More on how music and sound shape wellbeing: why music can help an overthinking mind, and how music therapy, therapeutic music and sound therapy differ.
Questions
MindHug Zero applies a personalised wellbeing sound layer alongside the audio you are already playing. It works with the way the auditory system responds to specific acoustic patterns, an area studied under headings including binaural approaches and auditory entrainment. The music you chose is what you hear. MindHug Zero sits underneath it and does not alter the track.
Once launched, MindHug Zero is designed to run alongside the mainstream music apps you already use, think Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music, as well as bespoke MindHug music. The exact supported apps will be confirmed at launch. You keep your library, your player and your habit. Nothing moves.
No more than your normal phone use. The app is lightweight and only does anything while music is actually playing, so there is nothing running in the background when you are not listening.
No special or noise-cancelling kit needed. Any everyday headphones or earbuds work. We do recommend headphones or earbuds over speakers, so the layer reaches each ear as intended.
It is designed to sit almost unnoticed beneath the music, so you are not meant to hear it as a separate sound. Some early listeners describe noticing the state rather than the signal: settling faster, staying with a task longer, drifting off sooner. MindHug Zero shows the intention you selected and the session running, so you can see it is active even when you cannot hear it.
MindHug Zero includes a safety timer that limits session length, so a session ends rather than running indefinitely. Listen at a comfortable volume, as you would with any audio. If you have a diagnosed hearing condition, epilepsy, or any concern at all, speak to a qualified clinician before use.
MindHug Zero is non-invasive: we do not modify, store or redistribute songs. It operates as an audio overlay running alongside mainstream music streaming apps, so your music stays exactly where it is, licensed as it already was.
The field includes published work on binaural beats and auditory entrainment. That research belongs to its authors. Backstage is live and we are gathering our own evidence now, which we will publish when we have it, attributed and dated.
No. MindHug Zero is a wellbeing product. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified health professional.
Patent pending.
MindHug Zero supports sleep quality, focus and feelings of calm. It makes no claim about sleep disorders, anxiety as a diagnosed condition, or any other clinical outcome. Published research on binaural approaches, entrainment and neuro-acoustics belongs to its authors and is not MindHug Zero outcome data.
